WE. ARE. MARRIED!!
And it was perfect.
We can’t thank all the people that helped us make this happen enough. We were so thrilled to have you all there with us. Everything was exactly the way we pictured it. Dusk ceremony overlooking the city. Candlelit reception with delicious food. People partying the night away on a smokin’ dance floor.
I loved the way I looked. It was literally the image I had in my head of myself. The dress was perfection. The hair piece, the hair, the makeup. Gorgeous.
Mike was so handsome. He was still sick, but he powered through and had a great time. I think he was basically surviving on adrenaline but loved every minute of it.
To our parents:
We couldn’t have done this without you. Your love, support and guidance helped us to plan our perfect day. We had so much fun and it wouldn’t have been able to happen without you. Thank you for everything you’ve done for us in the past and everything you did to make this day happen for us.
To our sisters/brothers/bridal party:
You guys all looked amazing and did everything we asked – even acted a bit of the fool for the entrance into the reception. Thank you for helping us get through the stress and reminding us to just have fun! We love you all and loved having you be a part of our day.
To Phil and Veronique:
The beer and the wine were awesome! You guys did so much for us – so above and beyond what was necessary. Everyone loved getting the beer at check-in and the wine was the perfect favor. I hope someday we get a chance to do something just as nice for you.
To our wedding stars:
Nancy – you showed up on Thursday ready to go and never stopped. Thank you for being my chauffeur, voice of reason and the raging bitch we all know and love. I’m so glad we got to spend so much time together and not just doing wedding stuff. Also, the poem? Perfect. You rocked it out so hard! Everyone cried! I love you. Thank you, thank you, thank you for everything.
Megan– I knew that you’d take care of anything I needed because you’re awesome like that. Thank you for all of your hard work in making the venue look amazing, dealing with my vendors and making sure everything was taken care of – even chalk! Apparently, you’re also the perfect wing-woman. haha! Love you!
Kristen– I miss the shit out of your face. I hate that you’re so far away and can’t just pop over and spend the night. I’m so happy you were there and part of our awesome day! It wouldn’t have been the same without you! Thank you for making the venue so lovely!
To our officiant:
“Reverend” Amy: We have known each other for nearly 20 years. We’ve done so many awesomely fun things together, so many completely stupid things together and been through so much together. I have to say, this is my absolute best memory that we’ve ever made. I loved having you marry us. It was real and personal and imperfect which, of course, made it perfect. No one else could have given us a lovelier ceremony and we can’t thank you enough. You make my soul sing and always have. I love you!
To everyone who attended:
We worked really hard to not only have a memorable day for us, but for all of you as well. I hope you enjoyed yourselves as much as we enjoyed having you! Thank you all for coming and making our day so awesome!
If you took photos, we’d love to have them! Please email them to wedding@rastiello.com.
Love,

6 years ago today, I met Mikey. Totally unexpected. Totally awesome. This picture of us is one of my favorites. It says everything you ever need to know about us. We’re dorky. We’re cute. We’re funny. We’re BFFs. We share a brain. We’re a little bit cool. (That last one might be stretching it but whatever.) And we’re totes in love.
So, 6 years.
6 years of laughing.
6 years of knowing exactly what the other person is thinking with just a look. (If you’ve never heard Mike’s version of the dialog that he believes go on in my head, you need to. )
6 years of watching our favorite shows together.
6 years of going to the movies and getting the same snack. (Giant popcorn, 2 drinks).
6 years of having each others backs.
6 years of helping each other grow personally and professionally.
6 years of keeping each other’s creative juices flowing. (Don’t be dirty.)
6 years of lazy days watching DVD marathons.
6 years of cooking together.
6 years of taking on the bad as a united front.
6 years of rejoicing in the good like giddy children.
6 years of dancing in the aisles of the grocery store. (HEB plays the best music).
6 years of cuddles.
6 years of one-upping each other.
6 years of eating at every Mexican restaurant we can find so that Mike can find the perfect chicken fajitas. (His current favorite is Chuy’s.)
6 years of eating at every burger joint we see so that we can find the perfect burger. (Jury is still out on that one.)
6 years of him letting me get drunkity drunk drunk and making sure I get home safely.
6 years of supporting each other no matter what.
6 years of dreaming of getting married.
6 months, 20 days to our wedding day.
I love you, Mikey. Thank you for changing my life forever. You are the absolute bestest thing to ever happen to me.
